CEO Appointment
Safestore Holdings plc, the largest self storage retailer in the UK and Paris, announces that today Peter Gowers becomes Chief Executive Officer of the Company, following the retirement of his predecessor Steve Williams.
Peter, aged 38, joins from InterContinental Hotels Group PLC ('IHG') where most recently he was Chief Executive, Asia-Pacific.
Peter Gowers, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"At Safestore we have a powerful combination of consumer brands, operational skills, real estate understanding and a national network that gives us a strong platform for the future. I am looking forward to working with the team and leading the business into the next phase of its development."
Peter began his career at Arthur D.Little before joining the strategy group of Bass PLC in 1999. He joined Bass's hotel division as Head of Strategy in 2001 and became Head of Global Brand Services for IHG in 2003 before being appointed as IHG's Chief Marketing Officer in 2005, a role he held until 2007 before taking up his position as CEO, Asia Pacific.
Safestore Holdings plc confirms that there are no other disclosures to be made pursuant to paragraph 9.6.13R (1) - (6) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority regarding the appointment of Peter Gowers
