Mr May (54) has more than 32 years experience in the construction industry, mostrecently as Chief Executive of HBG Construction Limited from 2001-2004 includingseeing through its acquisition by Royal BAM Group. Prior to that, he was ChiefExecutive of Laing Construction Limited for two years, implementing a newbusiness plan and achieving a successful sale to The O'Rourke Group in 2001following the decision by John Laing plc to sell the business. Mr May began his career at Tarmac Construction Limited in 1973 and in 1985joined John Mowlem & Company plc, where he spent fifteen years, latterly asManaging Director of its Building Division and member of the Group ExecutiveCommittee. Roy Harrison will remain as Executive Chairman for such a period of time as tofacilitate an effective handover of the day to day running of the business,after which time he will revert to a non-executive role.
