Regent Inns PLC08 September 2006 8 September 2006 REGENT INNS PLC Board Change The Board of Regent Inns plc ("Regent" or the "Company") announces today thatAlan Jackson is stepping down as Non-Executive Director, a position he has heldsince January 2005, and will leave the Company on 30 September 2006. Mr Jackson, who is Chairman of The Restaurant Group plc, has made the decisionto resign from the Board to avoid any conflict of interest between TheRestaurant Group's Leisure business and the Old Orleans business to be acquiredby Regent. It is with regret, therefore, that the Board has accepted Alan's resignation.The Board would like to thank him for his considerable contribution to thedevelopment of the Company over the last two years.
