Regent Inns PLC20 April 2005 20 April 2005 REGENT INNS PLC Appointment of Non-Executive Director Regent Inns plc ("Regent" or "the Company") today announces the appointment ofWilliam (Jim) James Glover as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Heheld senior positions at Kingfisher plc and Allied Domecq PLC, and was ChiefExecutive of Patientline PLC. Mr Glover became Chief Executive of Patientline, a leading provider of bedsidecommunications systems for hospital patients in 2001 and left the company inJanuary this year to pursue opportunities in the private equity market. Between1990 and 2000, Mr Glover held a number of senior positions at Kingfisher,including Deputy Managing Director of Woolworths, Managing Director and thenChairman of Superdrug and more recently as CEO General Merchandising Sector witha turnover of £3 billion, responsible for 1,600 Woolworths, Superdrug, MVCoutlets and Entertainment UK. Before joining Kingfisher, he held a range ofmanagement positions at Allied Domecq, including Managing Director of BeskinsLtd, the operator of 800 tenanted and managed pubs; Retailer Director of IndCoope Ltd, and senior positions at Allied Breweries and Joshua Tetley. Mr Glover has no other Company directorships and there are no further detailsrequired to be disclosed under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.
