Redline Wins Best of WiMAX World EMEA 2008 Industry Choice Award Redline's RedMAX 4C(TM) platform recognized by WiMAX industry leaders; MTN Cameroon RedMAX deployment among service provider category finalists

MUNICH, Germany, May 21 /CNW/ - Redline Communications Group Inc. , a leading provider of WiMAX broadband wireless products, today announced it has received the Best of WiMAX World EMEA 2008 "Industry Choice" Award for its RedMAX 4C(TM) Mobile WiMAX base station solution.

The Best of WiMAX EMEA Award program recognizes leaders in the development and deployment of WiMAX technologies. Redline's customer MTN Cameroon Inc., one of Africa's largest telecommunication operators, was also selected as a finalist for the Best of WiMAX World EMEA 2008 award in the Service Provider Deployment category. MTN Cameroon was nominated for its use of Redline's WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) family of RedMAX(TM) products, which enables organizations around the globe to offer their customers advanced, performance-driven, mobile wireless broadband solutions.

Conference delegates voted for the Industry Choice Awards at the WiMAX World EMEA Conference which took place from May 19 to May 21 at the ICM (International Conference Centre) in Munich, Germany this week. Redline received the Industry Choice award during the Best of WiMAX World EMEA Awards presentation hosted by Berge Ayvazian, Chief Strategy Officer of Yankee Group and co-conference chair, WiMAX World EMEA, and Mike Saxby, group publisher of xchange.

The RedMAX 4C(TM), which is based on the WiMAX industry's 802.16e-2005 standards for mobile WiMAX, supports a wide range of fixed, portable and mobile wireless services including support Voice and Video over IP, broadband Internet access used to support highly valued education, medical, transportation and municipal applications, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and other advanced communications services. The RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX platform is designed to enable operators to maximize their reach and customer density for a profitable carrier business model. The RedMAX 4C includes a modular, standardized (micro)TCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small, lightweight and easy to deploy. RedMAX 4C will also include a suite of indoor and outdoor fixed and portable end-user devices including laptops, mobile handsets and PDAs. Redline's new WiMAX offering is also designed to facilitate the integration of its RedMAX products with its RedMAX 4C technologies.

MTN Cameroon, a subsidiary of the MTN Group, a multinational telecommunications group operating in 21 countries in Africa and the Middle East, chose Redline's WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) RedMAX(TM) products for its 16 city WiMAX network. The first phase of the MTN Cameroon's WiMAX roll-out will include the cities of Douala and Yaoundĩ, with 14 additional cities planned by the end of 2008. During this phase, MTN Cameroon will install base stations with capacity to serve thousands of users and will offer VLAN services to more than 700 corporate customers. The company has extended its services to more than 12,000 residential users in Douala and Yaoundĩ. MTN Cameroon chose Redline's RedMAX products after a two year tender process during which the company evaluated WiMAX products from several companies.
