Portmeirion Group PLC17 March 2005 Portmeirion Group Plc (the 'Company') Acquisition of own shares The Company announces that, pursuant to its general authority granted byshareholders of the Company on 17th May 2004 to make market purchases of itsordinary shares of 5p each ("Ordinary Shares"), the Company today made on marketpurchases of 200,000 Ordinary Shares at 162p per share (all of which are to beheld as treasury shares). These shares, representing 1.92 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital,were purchased from Euan Cooper-Willis, a director of the Company on 17th March2005. Following this sale, Mr Cooper-Willis will be interested in 1,227,150Ordinary Shares representing 11.78 per cent. of the Company's issued sharecapital. The Company now holds 300,000 Ordinary Shares in treasury and the total numberof Ordinary Shares in issue less the total number of Ordinary Shares held intreasury following the purchase and non-cancellation of such Ordinary Shares is10,121,230 Ordinary Shares. This notification is pursuant to the amendment ofthe Companies Act 1985 to allow companies to buy-back and hold certain types oftheir own shares 'in treasury'.
