Brazil Business Launch, Veritas™ Soybean Program, Meliora™ Horticulture Program

Plant Impact is pleased to announce today that it has established business operations in the Brazilian market through the incorporation of its subsidiary, Plant Impact Technologia em Nutrição Limitada ("PI Brazil"). PI Brazil will be based in Sao Paulo and will allow Plant Impact to hold product registrations, employ staff and conduct a full range of operations in Brazil.

John Brubaker, Chief Executive of Plant Impact, commented "We are extremely excited to announce the establishment of Plant Impact's Brazil business and to affirm our long-term commitment to the market. Our management team and board recognise the critical importance of a local presence in this extremely competitive, technically sophisticated and fast-growing agricultural market."

In addition, Plant Impact also announces its 2012/13 pre-commercial demonstration and evaluation program for Veritas™ and Meliora™, the Company's CaT™ technology products for soybeans and high-value horticulture, respectively.

Veritas™ is an innovative foliar spray which delivers significantly improved soybean and dry bean yield in a variety of soils and environmental conditions. Over the course of the 2012/13 Brazilian soybean and cropping season, Plant Impact will conduct grower evaluation trials and additional replicated plot trials to finalise the product's yield potential and market positioning.

Meliora™ delivers enhanced calcium mobility to fruit and vegetable crops with compelling economic impact for technologically advanced growers. Also a part of Plant Impact's CaT™ technology family, the product's composition and design has been optimised to deliver increased efficacy for the Brazilian horticultural market. MelioraTM is under development for target crops such as tomatoes, melons, grapes and apples.

Grower evaluation and replicated plot trials will be conducted for both products in collaboration with key strategic partners and contract research firms in Brazil.

Dr. Steven Adams, Plant Impact's Director of Product Development commented, "Following good field performance with Veritas™ in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons, we are delighted to continue into our third year of development work with plans to demonstrate the product over the 2012/13 soybean season. We expect that this final year of pre-commercial activity will create excitement in the market through a demonstration of the significant benefits to be gained from using Veritas™. In prior years' trials, Veritas™ has delivered statistically significant and economically impactful improvements to soybean and dry bean yields."

Brazil will be the world's largest producer of soybeans in 2013 according to the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA). For the coming 2012/13 season, Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab) estimates that Brazilian growers will plant 26.8 million hectares of soybeans and 3.2 million hectares of dry beans. Brazil is also Latin America's largest producer of fruit and vegetables for both domestic consumption and export. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the production area of the crops targeted by Plant Impact's Meliora™ is 206 thousand hectares.
