For release 24th March 2005 PETARDS GROUP PLC ("PETARDS" OR "THE COMPANY") APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security systems, announces thatDavid Hayes has been appointed Chief Executive of the Company with effect fromtoday. Tim Wightman, Executive Chairman, will revert to the role ofNon-Executive Chairman but will continue to take an active involvement in thedevelopment of the Company. David joined the Company in March 2004 as Managing Director of the Security &Surveillance division. During the last twelve months, he has played a major rolein the changes at Petards that the Board believes will lead to the Company'ssustained profitability in the future.
