Share Placement

Petra Diamonds Limited has been made aware that 43 million shares in the Company held by Awal Bank BSC (in administration) ("Awal Bank") have been placed by RBC Capital Markets, acting for the External Administrator of Awal Bank, Charles Russell LLP, with UK and international institutions at a price of 190p per share. A further 13.2 million shares held by Awal Bank are subject to a 90 day lock-up.

The Company will make the appropriate updated shareholder notifications once these have been received.

The Company is not aware that the remaining 4.6 million shares disclosed on Petra's website at http://www.petradiamonds.com/investors/shareholder-information/major-shareholders as part of the 'Saad Investments Company Limited / Awal Bank' holding are to be disposed of at this time.
