Stratex International Plc ('Stratex' or 'theΒ Company')Β
ExceptionalΒ drill intersectionΒ at ΓksΓΌtΒ -Β 93.60Β metresΒ gradingΒ 5.61Β g/t Au
Stratex International Plc, theΒ AIM-quoted exploration and development company currently developing gold resources and exploring for world-class gold and base metal deposits in Turkey, is pleased toΒ provide further diamond drilling results from ΓksΓΌt, its 100%-ownedΒ high-sulphidationΒ gold discovery located inΒ centralΒ Turkey, whichΒ furtherΒ underlineΒ the significant potential ofΒ this project.Β
Highlights
93.60 metres grading 5.61 g/tΒ gold ('Au')Β in oxide material
Drilling targeted the Ortaçam Zone, the first target in an area of alteration and mineralisation now recognised to extend over 8 square kilometres
SoilΒ and outcropΒ sampling highlightedΒ fourΒ new exposedΒ gold-bearingΒ zones andΒ aΒ potential hidden porphyry system
Stratex Executive Chairman David Hall said,Β "TheΒ recentΒ excellent resultsΒ achieved, including the exceptionalΒ intersection ofΒ 93.6mΒ returningΒ 5.61g/t,Β have enabled us to gain a better understanding of theΒ goldΒ mineralisationΒ controls atΒ ΓksΓΌtΒ and demonstrate thatΒ theΒ OrtaΓ§amΒ ZoneΒ formsΒ part of an evenΒ larger gold systemΒ than first anticipated. RecentlyΒ undertakenΒ mapping and soil samplingΒ haveΒ highlightedΒ newΒ prospective targetΒ zones,Β which are scheduled to be exploredΒ in due course.Β Β WithΒ theseΒ resultsΒ indicatingΒ the significant potential of theΒ ΓksΓΌtΒ gold deposit,Β we look forward to continuingΒ thisΒ excitingΒ exploration programmeΒ in 2009Β and reporting furtherΒ results from the project."
Detailed InformationΒ
Five further diamond drill holes have been drilledΒ to investigate the extent of the oxide goldΒ mineralisationΒ identified within the OrtaΓ§am Zone atΒ ΓksΓΌt,Β the Company'sΒ latest significantΒ gold discovery.

All intersectionsΒ are within the oxide zone.Β ODD-12,Β likeΒ the previously reportedΒ ODD-8,Β represents anΒ oblique intersection of the mineralisedΒ system.Β Β The average grade for the upper part of ODD-12 includes values of 30.2 g/t and 26.9 g/t that are uncut as they are part of a near-surface high-grade zoneΒ (0.00-11.60 m - 7 samples)Β in which the lowest gold assay is 8.83 g/t.
StratexΒ commenced drilling atΒ ΓksΓΌt in mid-AugustΒ 2008Β andΒ has completed 2,677.9Β metres. The results prove that partial to complete oxidation persists down to a vertical interval of more than 100 metres, dependent on the degree of pervasive fracturing present within the zone.Β Β TheΒ mineralisationΒ in theΒ OrtaΓ§amΒ ZoneΒ isΒ largely confined to steeply inclined breccia zones,Β with outcropping silica representingΒ more extensiveΒ upper partsΒ of breccia zones that taperΒ at depth.Β Those holes with no significant intersections have enabled theΒ CompanyΒ toΒ gain a better understandingΒ ofΒ the geometry of theΒ mineralisation.
TheΒ OrtaΓ§am Zone, measuring approximately 200 metresΒ x 300 metres,Β is the first of a number of discrete, possibly linked, silica zones in theΒ ΓksΓΌtΒ prospect that Stratex has investigated.Β Β Extensive alteration and anomalous gold, with multiple values exceeding 0.1 g/t gold, have already been identified and mapped over an area ofΒ 8Β square kilometres,Β extending the known area of mineralisation from the originally identified 6 square kilometres.Β Β Four outcropping zones (OrtaΓ§amΒ North, Buyukmese, Kizilagil, Kucukmese) have been delineated for further explorationΒ and possible drilling.Β Β A soil geochemistry survey has also been completed over the full prospect area (4,000m x 4,000m) and has identified a fifth areaΒ (DevetasΔ±)Β defined by anomalous concentrations of Au (to 0.29 g/t),Β copper,Β molybdenum, andΒ bismuth, and may be indicative of a concealed porphyry system.Β Β All dataΒ areΒ now being evaluated with the intention of prioritising a drilling programme for 2009.
Sampling, assaying, and QA/QC
Stratex's sampling of drill core and outcropping rocks conforms to industry-wide good practice, with drill core being split using a diamond saw and with chain of custody being observed for all samples. Analysis is undertaken byΒ ALSΒ Chemex at its laboratories inΒ Vancouver,Β Canada, andΒ Romania, and the Company maintains QA/QC on all analytical work via the use of certified reference materials, field duplicates and blank samples in addition to monitoring of internal laboratory check-analyses.Β

Notes to editors:
Stratex International Plc is an AIM-quoted exploration and development company currently focusing on gold and base metal opportunities inΒ Turkey. Its proven strategy is to discover and develop new projects by focused low-cost exploration, thus adding maximum value prior to optioning/joint venturing or selling on to a dedicated mining company.Β
Stratex is actively seeking a technically capable and well-financed partner with the view to rapidly developing the 542,318 oz oxide resources present at the AltΔ±ntepe and Inlice projects.
Stratex's portfolio covers 11 licence blocks in central and westernΒ TurkeyΒ totalling approximately 1,724Β sq km. The Company's latest discovery is the ΓksΓΌt high-sulphidation gold deposit withΒ diamond drilling reporting best intersection ofΒ 93.60 metres grading at 5.61 g/tΒ gold.Β Β Additional key projects includeΒ DoΔanbeyΒ -Β one of fourΒ porphyry gold targetsΒ within the Konya Volcanic Belt, Muratdere - a porphyry gold-copper-molybdenum occurrence,Β and KaraaΔaΓ§ - a partially exposed, gently dipping gold-bearing zone. Ongoing drilling and exploration programmes are underwayΒ or anticipatedΒ on a number of these licences, focused on increasing Stratex's total resources, currently standing atΒ circa 1 millionΒ oz of goldΒ and approximately 3.2 million oz of silver. Additionally the Company has a healthy project pipeline portfolio,Β which it continues to strengthen through the acquisition of additional licences.Β
Stratex has a strategic partnership with Canadian major mining company, TeckΒ ComincoΒ Limited, whichΒ holdsΒ an 8.8% stake in the Company, enabling the two parties to pool expertise, skills and databases to identify potential projects.Β Β
