Highams Systems Services Group PLC05 September 2007 For Release 7.00am 5 September 2007 Highams Systems Services Group plc ("Highams" or "the Group") AGM STATEMENT At the AGM of Highams Systems Services Group plc, the AIM-listed business andtechnology recruitment consultancy specialising in the financial servicessector, being held today at 11.30am, Dave Pye, Chief Executive will make thefollowing statement: "I am pleased to report in this period of transition for Highams on the headwaywe are making as a company. This stems from the significant investments madethroughout this year, most notably in terms of a new London office, aconsiderably enlarged sales team and the start of our overseas expansion. We continue to place a considerable emphasis on the placement of permanent staffin our determination to deliver higher-value services. We expect to see theresults of this work coming through in the second half of the year together withthe contribution of our new office in the City of London, close to our customerbase, which is now fully staffed with sales personnel. Our contract business is maintaining its momentum with the focus here being onwinning higher margin work by achieving greater influence with our customers.This focus has led to a number of senior placement wins this year. The development of our activities in Continental Europe, whilst at an earlystage, is building in a carefully controlled manner in accordance with ourplanned model. We have also invested considerably in staff training and development in the lastfour months. As discussed in the Chairman's Statement at the time of our Preliminary Resultsin June, the Board anticipates that our half year results will reflect the costsof these investments, whilst the benefits will become more evident in the secondhalf of the year. With the continuing strength of our marketplace, our emphasis on higher-marginbusiness and our investment in the further growth of the Company, I look forwardto the future with confidence".
