DIRECTOR'S SHARE PURCHASE
Melrose Resources plc (LSE: MRS) ("the Company") announces that, on 19th December 2008, it received notification of the following changes in a Director's shareholding as a result of the purchase of shares in the Company, further details of which are set out below.

Notes:
The shares were acquired at £1.93 per ordinary share by Skye Investments Limited.
The interests of R F M Adair as at 19th December 2008 include 57,278,923 ordinary shares held by Skye Investments Limited, a company in which he has a controlling interest.
The Company has 110,086,888 ordinary shares in issue.
