Melrose Resources PLC01 July 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 1 July 2005 Melrose Resources plc ("the Company") Substantial Shareholder The Company today received notification from Fidelity International Limited andFMR Corp. and their direct and indirect subsidiaries, being non-beneficialholders, that they have an interest in 5,263,440 ordinary shares of 10 penceeach in the Company. This represents an increase in the notifiable interest of686,037 ordinary shares and a holding of 6.70% of the Company's current issuedordinary share capital.
