AGM Statement

Monitise plc (LSE: MONI), the technology company delivering mobile banking, payments and commerce networks worldwide, will hold its Annual General Meeting in London later today. At the meeting, Chairman of Monitise, Duncan McIntyre, will provide the following update on trading and developments:

"With dramatic growth in the order book, the year ended 30 June 2011 has been one of significant progress for Monitise, as outlined in detail in the Annual Report & Accounts. 

"It was a year of growth both globally and across the business and since the financial year-end, we have announced plans to launch mobile banking, payments and commerce services in Indonesia via a joint venture agreement with a subsidiary of Astra Group.

"We have also entered into a new five-year partnership agreement with RBS Technology Services to broaden the mobile banking and payment services offering of its global banking divisions. New RBS and NatWest mobile banking apps for customers with Blackberry® smartphones, which Monitise developed in partnership with RBS Group's Technology Services and Research in Motion (RIM), have gone live within the past month. This follows the launch of a new range of smartphone apps which included an application built specifically for the iPad, the first banking app for an iPad from a high-street UK bank.

"Monitise also welcomes the recent announcement by Visa Europe regarding its launch of person-to-person payments and alerts services. Visa Mobile person-to-person Payments and Visa Alerts have been developed in partnership with Monitise, the first of many services that will be made available through the new strategic partnership announced in early 2011.

"Finally, Monitise welcomed Brian McBride to the Board on 1 September 2011 as Non-Executive Director. Brian was previously Managing Director of Amazon.com in the UK and brings with him more than 25 years experience in the IT industry.

"Monitise is perfectly positioned to become a world leader in the Mobile Money space and deliver ongoing value for our shareholders. We look to the future with confidence as our momentum continues.

"Trading is in line with expectations and Monitise will report its interim results for the six months ended 31 December 2011 in February 2012."
