Morgan Sindall PLC05 February 2007 Morgan Sindall plc Morgan Est wins £38m Thames Water tunnels project Morgan Sindall plc, the construction group, today announces that itsinfrastructure services provider Morgan Est has been awarded a £38 millioncontract by Thames Water to design, construct and commission a 4.9km tunnel insouth London. The tunnel will extend the Thames Water Ring Main (TWRM) from an existing shaftin Brixton to a new pump out shaft at Honor Oak Reservoir. The tunnelledextension and provision of a new pump out facility at Honor Oak includesassociated mechanical, electrical, instrumental, control and automation (MEICA)works. The facility will provide Thames Water with greater reliability in thesupply of water to its customers and allow for the transfer of water from theRing Main to Honor Oak Reservoir. Work on site is due to start in March 2007 andwill be completed in March 2010.
