AGM Statement
Mercia Asset Management PLC (AIM: MERC), the regionally focused, private capital asset manager with c.£2.0billion of assets under management, is holding its Annual General Meeting at 10.00am today. The Non-executive Chair, Ian Metcalfe, will make the following remarks at the meeting:
"Mercia has made a positive start to the current financial year across its many equity and debt fund mandates. The Group remains well placed to continue to deploy capital across its fund portfolios, by supporting both existing portfolio companies, as well as adding new investments, as a result of our continuing significant liquidity and wide ranging deal flow networks.
"The Group remains well positioned to continue executing on its strategy of growing funds under management combined with the resultant economies of scale, to drive financial performance and deliver increasing returns to shareholders.
"We remain debt free and are maintaining an excellent cash position which is c.£35million currently. At the time of our Preliminary Announcement in July 2025 we initiated an annual share buyback policy of £3.0million, of which c.32% has been completed thus far. We are optimistic for continuing profitable progress in the second half of the financial year."
