Pre Close Trading Statement
McBride Plc,Β Europe's leading supplier ofΒ Private LabelΒ household and personal care products, today provides an update on trading for the six months ending 31 December 2009.
First half revenues are expected to be ahead of last year driven by continuing growth in theΒ FranceΒ andΒ ItalyΒ household markets, and in personal care, as well as a favourable currency translation impact.
The Group has continued to focus on operating costs and moving the mix to higher value business. We therefore expect operating profit in the first half to exceed expectations.
Operational cash flows have been strong throughout the first half, in line with our expectations.Β
Whilst overall market conditions are challenging, consumers continue to seek the great value that private label can offer. We are ideally placed to benefit from this trend.
The Group will announce its interim results for the six months ending 31 December 2009 on 4 February 2010.
