Board Changes

Mitchells & Butlers plc announces the following changes to its Board.

Susan Murray, who joined the Board in March 2019, and is the Senior Independent Director, has informed the Board that, in order to concentrate on her other commitments and activities, she does not intend to submit herself for re-election at the 2022 Annual General Meeting.

Jane Moriarty, who joined the Board in February 2019 and assumed the role of chair of the Audit Committee in July 2021, has confirmed that she will accept the Board's invitation to become the Senior Independent Director with effect from the end of the 2022 AGM.

As previously reported, an announcement in relation to the chairmanship of the Remuneration Committee is expected to be made in the next few months. 

Commenting on these changes, chairman Bob Ivell said:

We are grateful for the valuable contribution which Susan has brought to our Board over the past three years and, in particular, over the extremely challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic. We wish Susan all the best for the future and in her other roles and activities.

We are delighted that Jane has accepted the role of Senior Independent Director.

We hope to make a further announcement in the near future in relation to the position of chair of the Remuneration Committee which should conclude this process.
