Latham(James) PLC11 August 2005 James Latham plc Statement to the 2005 AGM On 24 June 2005, when the preliminary results for the year ended 31 March 2005were announced, a statement was made with regard to the first two months of thecurrent financial year. At that time, we reported that it was difficult to predict the outcome for theyear at such an early stage but sales for April and May were comfortably aheadof the same months last year although competition was intensifying. Somecustomers were uneasy that declining consumer spending could adversely affecttheir business and it was unlikely that our margins would be enhanced by priceincreases. That still holds true. We can further report that in June sales were slightly ahead of, and in Julysimilar to, the same months last year. James Latham plc's interim results will be announced at the end of Novemberwhich will give an accurate picture of profit for the six months to the end ofSeptember.
