Lancashire Holdings Limited ("Lancashire") - Management changes at Cathedral, Lancashire's rapidly developing Lloyd's business

Lancashire Holdings Limited (Lancashire) has today announced appointments to the management team within its Cathedral Lloyd's subsidiaries subject to Lloyd's and other approvals. With effect from 1 April 2016 Alex Maloney, the Lancashire Group CEO, has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Cathedral Capital Limited, the holding company of the Cathedral Group and a subsidiary of Lancashire. Richard Williams, a long standing member of the Cathedral senior management team, will be appointed as the Active Underwriter and as a director of Cathedral Underwriting Limited (CUL), the Lloyd's managing agency within the Cathedral Group (subject to Lloyd's and other approvals), and will assume that role from John Hamblin who will leave Cathedral. Richard Williams will also be appointed to Lancashire's Underwriting and Underwriting Risk Committee.

Simon Fraser, the Senior Independent Director on the Lancashire board will also be appointed to the board of CUL, subject to Lloyd's and other approvals.

Lancashire also announces that Lawrence Holder has decided to step down as the Managing Director and as a director of CUL in 2017.

In November 2013, Lancashire acquired Cathedral Capital Limited, and since then Cathedral has been integral to the operation and successful delivery of the Lancashire Group's strategic objectives - together with Lancashire's UK and Bermuda operating platforms and Lancashire's Kinesis third-party reinsurance capital business. Over the last two years Lancashire has worked on achieving greater connectivity and synergies within and between its businesses. A notable success has been the build out of Cathedral Syndicate 3010. Alex Maloney's appointment as the Chief Executive of Cathedral Capital, and the other changes announced today, are part of this strategic integration.

Alex Maloney said:

"I am excited at the prospect of working even more closely with my colleagues at Cathedral. Richard has been with the Cathedral business for over 15 years and I am delighted to be able to work with him in his new underwriting management role and to thank John for his performance in that role over many years. I would like to thank Lawrence for his contribution to the success of Cathedral and I know he will continue to give sound counsel as we develop the business during the coming year. Simon will make a valuable contribution to the development of our Lloyd's strategy and I welcome him to the CUL board."
