Richard Akers to join Board as Non-Executive Director
Barratt Developments PLC announces that Richard Akers will join the Board as a non-executive director on 02 April 2012.
Mr Akers is an Executive Director of Land Securities Group PLC ("Land Securities") and Managing Director, Retail. He joined Land Securities in 1995 and prior to that worked at AMEC Developments. Richard is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and holds an MA in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
Commenting on the appointment, Barratt Development's Chairman, Bob Lawson said: "Richard has a broad business experience and a deep knowledge of the property market from a commercial and retail perspective which will complement the existing skills of the Board. I am delighted to welcome him to the Board."
Richard Akers said "I am delighted to be joining Barratt. It is a leading UK housebuilder with high quality product, a strong marketing ethos, and a real commitment to sustainability."
