Rita Forst to join Johnson Matthey as a Non-Executive Director
The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Rita Forst as an independent Non-Executive Director of Johnson Matthey Plc. This appointment is with effect from 4th October 2021 and Rita will also become a member of our four board committees.
Rita has a deep understanding of the automotive and powertrain sectors, having had a long and successful career at General Motors. She brings extensive knowledge in the field of research and development of both conventional and alternative powertrains to the board, as well as future vehicle technologies.
Rita spent more than 35 years at the Opel European division of General Motors in senior engineering, product development and management positions, including as Vice President, Engineering for General Motors Europe. She was also a member of Opel's management board from 2010 to 2012. Rita has been responsible for the development of new generations of engines and car models for Opel and General Motors as well as European research and development activities.

In accordance with obligations under Listing Rule 9.6.13R, Rita currently holds the following directorships:
· Westport Fuel Systems Inc, a company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange
· AerCap Holdings N.V., a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange
· Norma Group SE, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange
· ElringKlinger AG, a company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
There is no other information required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
