Intertek Group PLC26 September 2007 26 September 2007, 7am London, UK Intertek announces the acquisition of Biodata - a food, environmental andagricultural laboratory. Intertek Group plc (Intertek), the leading international provider of quality andsafety services to a wide range of industries, announces the acquisition ofbiodata ANALYTIK GmbH ("Biodata"), an independent laboratory in Germany. Intertek purchased Biodata from its German parent company K+S Consulting GmbHfor a cash consideration of €3.6m (GBP2.5m). Biodata provides expert laboratoryanalysis and evaluation with a focus on food with additional provision ofanalytical services on animal feed and agricultural products, plus analysis andevaluation of the quality of water, soil, air and waste products. The companyworks in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice ('GLP') standards and has arange of other accreditations for the services it offers. Biodata will enhance Intertek's global food business, particularly in Europe andwill complement services available to customers, aligning with other Intertekfacilities and centres of excellence internationally. Services are provided to awide range of customers from manufacturers through to retailers. Biodata's analytical services are provided by experts who are leaders in theirfields and include chemists, food chemists, agricultural engineers, andveterinarians.
