Intertek Group PLC22 December 2005 22 December 2005, 7am (UK) Intertek Group plc ("Intertek") Intertek acquires the Systems Certification business of KPMG India and MiddleEast Intertek, the global testing, inspection and certification company, announcesthe acquisition of KPMG Quality Registrars in India and the Middle East("Quality Registrars") for £4.5 million in cash. Quality Registrars was founded in 1994 and following rapid growth has become oneof the top three providers of systems certification in India, and market leaderfor systems certification in the IT industry in India. Quality Registrars alsohas a strong position in the smaller Middle Eastern market. This acquisition will strengthen Intertek's position as a global provider ofsystems certification by expanding the geographic footprint and adding to theproduct offering.
