10th March 2010 INTERSERVE WINS CONTRACTS IN UK AND MIDDLE EAST TOTALLING OVER £200m

Interserve, the international services, maintenance and building group, has won contracts in the UK and through its Middle East associates worth over £200 million in aggregate. These include a significant support services contract with the UAE armed forces, three construction contracts in Qatar worth more than £90 million and the finalisation of a major, £70 million project to design and construct storm-water tunnels in Preston as part of the KMI Plus joint venture.

Interserve's UAE associate, Khansaheb Civil Engineering, has been awarded a significant contract, `Project Tatweer' by the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces to deliver facilities management (FM) services. Initially the contract is to set up a pilot project at a key strategic facility and then, over the three-year contract period, to extend best practice FM services across the entire estate of over 220 locations. Project Tatweer is a pathfinder project for FM outsourcing in the Gulf and the vision of the project is that it become a reference for other government departments and ministries.

Gulf Contracting, Interserve's Qatar associate, has won three construction contracts with a combined value of over £90 million. The largest of these is repeat business with Siemens, for the design and construction of nine substations worth more than £55 million. The two further contracts are an extension to offices Gulf Contracting constructed last year for a major petrochemical company at Ras Laffan Industrial City, and the construction of four substations for a major development project being built near Doha.

In the UK Interserve has continued to add to the future workload in its construction business. As part of the KMI Plus joint venture it finalised contract terms with United Utilities to begin a major, £70 million project in Preston to design and construct new storm-water tunnels, while in London it has been awarded a contract by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to carry our a major refurbishment of the iconic Albert Bridge. In the south-west Interserve has secured a contract to extend and refurbish the Siblands SLD Secondary School in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire - its first project under the Construction Framework South West (CFSW) framework announced last year.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve's Chief Executive, said, "These wins demonstrate that we are continuing to reap the benefits of our strategy of developing long-term client relationships and that there continue to be good opportunities in our main markets, both in the UK and overseas."
