IP Group plc - Exercise of options
IP Group plc (LSE: IPO) ("IP Group" or "the Group" or "the Company"), the developer of intellectual property-based businesses, announces the following in connection with its employee share schemes.
Exercise of Deferred Bonus Share Plan ("DBSP") options
The Group's four executive directors and three of its PDMRs exercised DBSP options over a total of 199,100 ordinary shares of two pence each ("Shares"), resulting from the partial deferral of annual bonuses from 2018, 2019 and 2020 on 27 May 2021. In addition, on the same date, other Group employees exercised DBSP options over a total of 171,937 shares resulting from the partial deferral of bonuses from the same period. IP Group's employee benefit trust satisfied the exercise of these options through the purchase of 371,037 existing Shares at an average price of 121.6077p.
All of the executive directors and Mark Reilly sold sufficient Shares to meet their tax liabilities. Sam Williams and Angela Leach sold all of the Shares resulting from their option exercises. The balance of the Shares retained by the executive directors will continue to be held by IP Group's employee benefit trust on behalf of, and as nominee for, the executive directors in order to assist the Group in its application of its Post Cessation Shareholding Policy.
Shares in issue
As the Group's employee benefit trust purchased existing Shares to satisfy the option exercises, the Company continues to have 1,062,353,734 Shares in issue.
