Non-Executive AppointmentΒ
Island Oil & Gas plc ("Island" or the "Company"), today announces that it is expanding its Board with the appointment of Adrian DoullΒ as a Non-executive Director with effect from 12Β September 2008.Β
AdrianΒ (age 64) was born inΒ South AfricaΒ andΒ graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.Β AdrianΒ has had a long association with the oil and gas industry, particularly inΒ North AmericaΒ where he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Anglo American Group's operating businesses.Β
He is a director of Comm Inc andΒ hasΒ servedΒ on the board of a number of oil and gas companies, including Adobe Oil & Gas, Francana Oil & Gas, Canadian Merrill and Trend Exploration.Β
He has considerable international experience in natural resources inΒ AfricaΒ andΒ North America, as well as inΒ Europe, where he has lived for the past 20 years. Until 2003, he was Senior Director -Β Europe,Β AfricaΒ & theΒ Middle East, of the international energy research and consulting firm, Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA).
There is no further information to be disclosed in accordance with Schedule 2(g) of theΒ AIMΒ Rules.
