Launch of automated 1,25-Dihydroxy Vitamin D assay on the IDS-iSYS system
Today, IDS has launched the first ever automated assay for 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D. This test is available on the IDS-iSYS immunoassay system and increases the number of tests available on the system to 11. Currently 7 tests are able to be sold in the US market, the 1,25 dihyroxyvitamin D test will be not be available in the USA until it is submitted to and cleared by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
IDS is one of the leaders in the development and manufacture of vitamin D immunoassays and also has a comprehensive repertoire of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D manual tests. Indeed, IDS believes the assay launched today will transform the 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D testing workflow for laboratory professionals with fast, accurate and reliable results.

The Company will issue its trading update statement for the year ended 31 March 2012 on Thursday 12 April 2012.

More about the IDS-iSYS 1,25-Dihydroxy Vitamin D test : The 1,25-Dihydroxy Vitamin D test is used to assess 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D deficiency associated with renal disease and is also useful in the diagnosis of disorders in the metabolism of 25 hydroxyvitamin D and phosphate. Approximately 5 million 1,25 dihyroxyvitamin D tests are performed annually across Europe and USA*.
