TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Howden Joinery Group Plc (the "Company") announces that on 5 April 2019 it purchased through UBS AG London Branch the following number of its ordinary shares of 10p each ("Shares") for cancellation at an average price of 515.36p per Share:

Following the above transaction, the Company holds 6,015,580 Shares in treasury and 606,248,281 Shares in issue (excluding those held as treasury shares). This figure (606,248,281) represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they can determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
