Hardy Oil & Gas plc16 August 2005 For Immediate Release 16 August 2005 Hardy Oil and Gas plc ("Hardy" or the "Company") Operational Update Hardy Oil and Gas plc announces that on 3 August 2005, its PY-3 fieldtemporarily suspended production, after the mooring system parted from itsFloating Storage facility. As a consequence production was automatically shut down, with no environmentalproblems. The Company is confident that production will shortly resume after minor repairwork to the mooring system and this will not materially impact its productiontargets for the year, or current market forecasts. Hardy will report its maiden Interim Results for the six month period to 30 June2005, on Monday 12 September 2005.
