Hardy Oil & Gas plc15 December 2005 Immediate Release 15 December 2005 HARDY OIL AND GAS PLC BOARD APPOINTMENT Hardy Oil and Gas plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Carol Bell tothe board as a non-executive Director with effect from 16 December 2005. Dr Bell has many years experience in the oil and gas sector. Initially workingin the industry for RTZ Oil and Gas Ltd and Charterhouse Petroleum she movedinto banking as an Equity Analyst in the Oil and Gas sector for UBS Phillips &Drew and then Credit Suisse First Boston. From 1991 to 1997, Dr Bell was with JPMorgan where she was Head of European Equity Research in the mid-1990s. In 1997she moved to The Chase Manhattan Bank as a Managing Director in the Global Oiland Gas Group. Since leaving Chase Manhattan in 1999, she has been awarded a PhD in thearchaeology of trade in the ancient world. During this period, she continued tobe involved in the oil and gas business in a non-executive capacity with OspreyOil & Gas Limited and served on the Investment Advisory Committee of Gemini Oiland Gas (an oil and gas royalty fund). She is currently Honorary Treasurer ofthe British School at Athens and Chairman of the Investment Committee of GirtonCollege, Cambridge and remains a non-executive Director of Osprey Oil & GasLimited.
