London: Thursday, 13 September 2012: Chi-Med received notification on 13 September 2012 that Mr Michael Howell, Independent Non-executive Director of Chi-Med, purchased 31,800 ordinary shares of US$1.00 each in Chi-Med (the "Shares") at a price of GBP4.35 each on 11 September 2012.
Following this purchase, Mr Howell is beneficially interested in 153,600 Shares, representing approximately 0.30% of the current issued share capital of Chi-Med.
