Directorate Changes

Greggs plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Durant as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

Ian is currently Chairman of Capital and Counties Properties PLC and a non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Greene King plc. He is also a non-executive director of Home Retail Group plc. Ian is a Chartered Accountant and his executive background is in international financial and commercial management. His career includes periods with Jardine Matheson (including Dairy Farm International), Thistle Hotels, Sea Containers, and as Finance Director of Liberty International PLC.

Bob Bennett will retire as a director at the next Annual General Meeting, currently scheduled to be held on 16 May 2012. Bob has served as a non-executive director since 1 December 2003, and was appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee on 11 May 2004 and as Senior Independent Director on 13 May 2008.

Following on from these changes, Julie Baddeley will take over as Senior Independent Director, Iain Ferguson will become Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and Ian Durant Chairman of the Audit Committee, with all these appointments effective from 1 January 2012.

Derek Netherton, Chairman, said "We are delighted that Ian has agreed to join our board. He brings extensive financial and commercial experience, and added insight into the world of commercial property. At the Annual General meeting next May, I intend to pay tribute to Bob Bennett's significant contribution to Greggs".

Listing Rule 9.6.13R (1) to (6) Disclosure

Save as set out in the preceding text and below there are no matters required by paragraphs LR 9.6.13R (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules to be disclosed in relation to Ian Durant:

Ian Durant was a director of SeaContainers Services Ltd and SeaContainers Treasury Ltd, both subsidiaries of SeaContainers Ltd, in the period prior to SeaContainers Ltd entering a creditors' voluntary liquidation.
