Operational Update
Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited (AIM:GKP), an independent oil and gas exploration company with interests in Algeria and Kurdistan, announces today on behalf of the Sonatrach/GKP joint venture that the GKN-1 well has been shut-in since early June in order to facilitate the planned work programme.
The planned work programme consists of maintenance and repairs on the main oil transportation line, workover of the GKN-1 well and upgrade of the existing facilities to handle the increased production expected when the GKS-2 well is brought onstream for the first time.Β In addition, during the shut in period the partners will complete the pipeline necessary to commence production from GKS-2.
AnΒ updateΒ on the GKN-1 and GKS-2 wellsΒ will be made when news is available.
