Launch of Gfinity Elite Series season two

Highly acclaimed Gfinity Elite Series confirms its return for season two of esports tournament 

Gfinity plc, a leading international esports group, confirms the launch of the Gfinity Elite Series season two, commencing on 6th October 2017 and to be broadcast live from the Gfinity Esports Arena in London.

Following the success of the first Gfinity Elite series, the Elite Series season two will run until 9th December 2017, when the champions will be awarded their trophies at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London and prize money of £225,000. Season two willonce again feature the same three popular games as season one: Rocket League, Street Fighter V and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Series one saw total viewership in excess of three million, with fans around the globe watching through a range of high profile broadcast partners, including BBC Three, BT Sport, Eleven Sport and Twitch.tv, with more than 220 million impressions on social media. The Company expects to build on these numbers for season two following its stated strategy to establish the Gfinity Elite Series as the leading global format for professional esports competitions and the basis for a truly global esport competition.

To prepare for the Gfinity Elite Series season two, the second Elite Draft was held on 15th September in which eight professional teams competed to add new players to their rosters from the top qualifying amateur players who earned their spot from competing online in the Gfinity Challenger Series.
