Genel Energy plc ('Genel' or 'the Company') announces that Chakib Sbiti has indicated his intention to retire from the Board of Genel at the AGM in June 2017.
Chakib Sbiti has served over six years at Genel as Non-Executive Director and more recently as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. The Nomination Committee will review the composition of the Remuneration Committee in due course.
Tony Hayward, Chairman of Genel Energy, said:
"Chakib has been an integral member of the Board and his experience and insight gained from over 30 years in the industry have been invaluable to the Company. It has been a pleasure to work with Chakib, and all of us at Genel would like to wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
