Update and Contract Win

Filtronic plc (LSE: FTC), the designer and manufacturer of microwave electronics products for the wireless telecoms infrastructure market, is pleased to provide the following update.

In our announcement of 28 January 2015, we indicated that technical issues had been encountered in the development of the integrated antenna product. We are pleased to announce that, having supplied a pre-production batch of products to our customer in March and April and following a number of tests by our customer and by a major US operator, these issues have been successfully resolved.

We are pleased to announce that the Wireless business has received production tooling orders totalling $265,000 from our customer, a major telecoms industry OEM for Ultra Wide Band integrated antennas.

The receipt of production tooling orders will enable Filtronic to bring the product into a volume manufacturing ready state and it is anticipated that production orders will follow the completion of the tooling orders.

The Broadband business continues to focus on developing proprietary E-band transceiver modules for Mobile Telecommunications backhaul applications and on providing build to print services to related markets. Our latest generation E-band transceiver, Orpheus, has been demonstrated to operate at a best in class >4Gbps at 256QAM and we are pleased to report that initial production orders have recently been received from a major OEM for this product. We can also confirm that Filtronic Broadband have been selected to manufacture, on a build to print basis, E-band transceivers based on an alternate chipset.

The Board continues to evaluate measures to strengthen the Company's balance sheet. Further details will be announced in due course.
