Fairpoint Group plc - Directorate Change

Fairpoint Group plc ("Fairpoint" or "the Group") is pleased to announce the appointments of Andrew James Heath, and John Allkins to the board effective 9 September 2008.

Fairpoint also announces that as disclosed in the Group's trading update of 10 June 2008 Michael Blackburn has retired from the role of Chairman and from the Board. Matthew Peacock has been appointed as Non-Executive Chairman. Both changes are effective from 9 September 2008.

John Allkins, aged 59 is appointed as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director. John was previously Group Finance Director for MyTravel Group plc and is also a Non-Executive Director of Intec Telecom Systems plc, Molins plc and Renold plc.

Andrew Heath, aged 41, is appointed as Finance Director, having joined the Group in April 2007 and having being appointed as Company Secretary and acting Finance Director in December 2007. Andrew was previously Vice President Corporate Accounting for Capital One Bank (Europe) plc.

Matthew Peacock, Chairman of Fairpoint, said
