esure Group plc: Appointment of New Non-Executive Director & Deputy Chairman

esure Group plc (the "Company") announces that its Board has appointed Martin Pike as a new Non-Executive Director. Martin has also been appointed as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. The appointment will be effective from 12 August 2015. 

Martin is a non-executive director with Standard Life plc, where he Chairs the Risk & Capital Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee. He is also on the Board of Faraday Underwriting Limited, and he is Chairman of Greencore Construction Limited, a company of which he is joint founder.

Martin spent 30 years with Towers Watson, where he held a number of senior positions, culminating in the post of Managing Director, Risk Consulting & Software EMEA.

As previously announced, due to a potential conflict of interest following Zoopla's acquisition of uSwitch, Mike Evans decided to step down as a Non-Executive Director of esure Group plc once a successor had been appointed. Following Martin's appointment, Mike will step down as a Director of esure Group plc on 12 August 2015.

The Company also announces that Shirley Garrood, the Company's Senior Independent Director, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of esure Group plc. 

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13R (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Mr Pike.
