First commercial contract to provide mobile payments
Escher Group Holdings plc, (AIM: ESCH, "Escher" or "the Group"), a world-leading provider of outsourced, point of sale software to the postal industry, announces its first contract to provide peer-to-peer (P2P) mobile payments for Irish restaurant chain Graham O'Sullivan Restaurants.
Escher's P2P payments solution adds to its growing portfolio of retail products, integrating into its Mobile Wallet, which can already use secure QR code identities for payment. The solution offers both smartphone and contactless card based rewards and payment programmes.
The technology allows customers to make payments using any NFC-enabled Android phone on any mobile network, once they have downloaded the retailer's app. It uses Android Beam to send the customer identity from the phone to the retail point of sale to allow closed loop payment, loyalty & coupon redemption.
