ANNOUNCEMENT - Availability 2022 Sustainability Report
Electrica Group informs its shareholders and investors about the fact that the 2022 Sustainability Report is available on Electrica's website, at: https://www.electrica.ro/en/category/nonfinancials-reporting/ .
The 2022 Sustainability Report has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Core option, the Energy Sector specific supplement, as well as with the national legislation on non-financial reporting - Orders No. 1938/2016 and No. 2844/2016 issued by the Ministry of Public Finance. Moreover the report addresses the two environmental objectives of the EU taxonomy (as per Regulation (EU) 2020/852) and integrates the BSE principles on ESG reporting.
The statement of Electrica's CEO, Mr. Alexandru Chirita: "The report provides a thorough analysis of our sustainability performance and highlights the work we have done over the past year to meet our sustainability objectives and the highest moral and environmental standards. We have a lot of ESG policies in place at the Group level, and we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and to promote the circular economy.
Electrica's priority is to continuously connect our strategies, policies, and current activity with the EU paradigm in order to contribute to the collective effort to minimize the effects of climate change and social disparities. We are also working on alignment with the short and medium term European legislation proposals, i.e. reporting under the CSRD. This means that we are constantly striving to integrate the principles of sustainable development into all segments of our business so that we shall play a significant role in the transition to sustainable energy for our clients, for the environment and for the community.
Historically, Electrica has published seven Sustainability Reports, developed in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines. In 2016, Electrica published its first sustainability report, thus achieving the first non-financial reporting of the company, one year before the legal deadline. In November 2021, at the ARIR forum, the 2020 Electrica Sustainability Report was voted among the best sustainability reports among BSE-listed companies.
