e2v technologies PLC18 July 2005 18 July 2005 E2V WINS TWT CONTRACT FOR EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON AIRCRAFT e2v technologies announces it has won a £4.3 million order to supply travellingwave tubes (TWTs) for the new Eurofighter Typhoon Defensive Aids Sub System(DASS). DASS is designed to enhance aircraft survivability with an advanced suite ofself defence sensors and countermeasures. TWTs are an important component inthis system. The order comes via SELEX Sensors and Airborne Systems (SELEX S&AS) who supplythe state-of-the-art DASS electronic warfare suite to the Eurofighter Typhoonaircraft, under contract from BAE Systems. The TWTs will be used on a fleet ofover 380 aircraft and will be delivered by e2v over the next two and a halfyears. It has been a key element of e2v's strategic plan to secure new contracts forits TWTs and related products. This contract is an important landmark inachieving this strategic objective and ensures that e2v will be well positionedfor future global business opportunities.
