Blavod renews three-year agreement
for
Branca Brands
Blavod Wines & Spirits plc (AIM:BES), the AIM quoted owner of premium drinks brands and distributor of agency brands has agreed terms with leading Italian drinks manufacturer Fratelli Branca Distillerie for a three-year renewal to its distribution agreement for its leading brands in the UK, which include Fernet Branca, Branca Menta, Punt E Mes, Antica Formula, Borghetti Caffe Liqueur and Borghetti Oro Sambuca.
The move follows the continued growth in sales volumes that Blavod has achieved in its agency brands division, which has significantly outperformed the market across all key trade sectors as was announced in half-year results published in December 2012, with the combined sales net of duty from continuing agency brands increasing by in excess of 40%.
Sales growth in the UK has in part been fueled by the growing popularity of bars and clubs serving cocktails with a number of the Fernet Branca brands being the key ingredient, some of the most popular including: Antica Formula for making a Negroni; Punt e Mes for a Manhattan; Fernet Branca in a Fernandito; and Branca Menta for a Mintonic.
