Jim Clarke's intention to retire from Countrywide, Himanshu Raja appointed successor

Countrywide Plc ('Countrywide' or the 'Company' or 'Group') today announces that Jim Clarke, the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has informed the Board of his intention to step down from the Board on 31 July 2017 and retire from the Group on 31 December 2017. Jim will be succeeded by Himanshu Raja who will join the Board on 12 June 2017 and will take up the CFO post on 1 August 2017 following the announcement of Countrywide's Half Year results.

Jim has been with Countrywide for over 10 years serving as an Executive Director on the Board, as the Group Chief Financial Officer.

A full transition plan is in place, including applications for all necessary approvals, along with a substantial period for a smooth handover. Himanshu has wide CFO experience having most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of G4S plc. Himanshu will serve as an Executive Director on the Board of Countrywide.

Himanshu's appointment is subject to approval by the Financial Conduct Authority, this process is underway.

The remuneration details relating to Jim Clarke required to be made available under Section 430(2B) of the Companies Act 2006 are published on the Countrywide website.

Pursuant to 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority, Himanshu has been a director of Logica plc and a director of G4S plc in the past five years and is no longer a director of these companies. There is no further information which would require disclosure under 9.6.13R.
