Extension of Auditor appointment
China Nonferrous Gold Limited 中国有色黄金有限公司 (AIM: CNG), the mineral exploration and mining company currently mining the Pakrut gold project in the Republic of Tajikistan, is pleased to announce that PKF Littlejohn LLP will continue to be the auditor of CNG for the Company accounts for the twelve months ended 31 December 2020.
Extension of Audit Engagement Partner with PKF Littlejohn LLP
The FRC Revised Ethical Standard 2019 states that in circumstances where the audit committee (or equivalent) of the audited entity decide that a degree of flexibility over the timing of rotation is necessary to safeguard the quality of the audit and the audit firm agrees, the audit engagement partner may continue in this position for an additional period of up to two years, so that no longer than seven years in total is spent in the position of audit engagement partner.
The knowledge held by the Responsible Individual (“RI”) of the historic commercial and accounting issues that have been faced by the company, and the required approach to ensure key balances and transactions are presented appropriately, is invaluable to the understanding and implementation of this audit.
Therefore, it has been approved by the audit committee of CNG that whilst the RI has been in place for five years, it is in the best interests of the Company if the current RI extends their position for one more year.
