Director Shareholding and Total Voting Rights
The Company has been notified that on 28 January 2009 Doug Allison, Finance Director, exercised options over 20,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares"). The exercise price paid by Mr. Allison was 26 pence per Ordinary Shares. This transaction takes Mr. Allison's total interest to 310,625 Ordinary Shares representing 1.22% of the issued share capital of the Company.
As a result of this transaction, the total number of Ordinary Shares of City of London in issue is 25,535,500. There are no Ordinary Shares held in treasury and therefore the total number of Ordinary Shares with voting rights in the Company is 25,535,000.
The above figure of 25,535,500 Ordinary Shares may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
