Bulgin product launch and IP update

Elektron Technology plc (AIM: EKT, "Elektron", "Group"), the global technology group, announces:

· Launch of its 4000 series range of Bulgin Buccaneer® connectors

· Launch of new Bulgin website (www.bulgin.com)

· Granting of patent for 6000 series locking mechanism - patent number 2501878

Building on the success of the Buccaneer® 6000 and 7000 Series of 'quickconnect' connectors launched in 2012 and 2013, Bulgin has expanded the Buccaneer® range of environmentally-sealed power and data connectors with the introduction of the new Buccaneer 4000 Series. This latest product offering provides quarter-turn twist lock coupling, similar to the 7000 series, and 'fit and forget' connectivity in a more compact format, enabling product engineers to more easily integrate into their system designs.

The Buccaneer 4000 Series has been developed to provide sealing characteristics to ensure environmental protection in harsh conditions as well as to withstand vibrations, shock and corrosion. Each unit has a UV-resistant and flammability-rated plastic body equipped with a simple and efficient twist locking mechanism, allowing a secure connection without the need for specialist tools. The Buccaneer 4000 Series is ideally suited in a wide range of marine, industrial, transport and infrastructure applications, especially where space is at a premium.

A new Bulgin website has been launched, complementing the Bulgin catalogue issued in October, outlining the increased product offering and core technical capabilities of the business.

Elektron Technology has been advised that the UK Intellectual Property Office intends to award a patent for the locking mechanism developed for the Bulgin Buccaneer® 6000 series of connectors. Patents have also been filed internationally.
