Elektron PLC28 July 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 28 July 2005 ELEKTRON PLC ("Elektron" or the "Company") Trading statement to be made by the Chairman at the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held today Adrian Girling, Executive Chairman of Elektron, the AIM traded componentsmanufacturer will make the following statement at the Annual General Meeting ofthe Company to be held later today: "We announced our results for the year ended 31 January 2005 on 27 May 2005 andprovided a review of trading for the first quarter as part of thatannouncement. Since that time, trading has been in line with the Board'sexpectations. Bulgin has seen weakness in some of its markets being offset by savings derivedfrom overseas manufacturing. Arcolectric did not this year have the benefit of the backlog of orders whichhad built up prior to its acquisition by the Company. I am pleased to reporthowever that Arcoelectric's average daily order intake has increased in each successive month in the first half of this year. We expect to report a satisfactory outcome for the six months ending 31 July2005."
