Character Group PLC12 April 2005 Issued by Citigate Dewe Rogerson Ltd, BirminghamDate: Tuesday, 12 April 2005 Immediate Release The Character Group plc ("the Company") Trading statement As indicated in the AGM statement on 19 January 2005, the trading results forthe first half will prove to be disappointing. Unfortunately, this has proved tobe the case and the Company expects to announce a loss before taxation in theregion of £2 million which is worse than original expectations. The Directors believe that results for the second half of the current financialyear will be significantly ahead of those achieved over the corresponding periodfor last year, but given the losses expected to be incurred in the first half,the Company currently expects that results for the full year will not meetcurrent market expectations. The Company will make a further statement on current trading when it announcesits results for the six months ended 28 February 2005 which is expected to be onThursday 21 April 2005.
