Realisation of Investment
Braveheart Investment Group plc (AIM: BRH), the financial services company that facilitates SME growth through investment by public and private sector sources, today announces that it has realised its investment in one of its portfolio companies, Cascade Technologies Holdings Ltd ('Cascade'), as a result of the acquisition of that company by Emerson, a listed US engineering company, for an undisclosed cash consideration.
Braveheart acquired its minority shareholding in Cascade, a Stirling based manufacturer of gas analysers and monitoring systems using quantum cascade laser (QCL) technology, in 2006 and in 2008, investing an aggregate of £149,969. Braveheart will receive a net cash consideration of £389,655 for its shareholding.
Around 40 of Braveheart's private clients also realised their shareholding in Cascade and most should benefit from the tax reliefs provided by the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
Geoffrey Thomson, Chief Executive of Braveheart, commented: "We noted in our interim results announced on 15 December, that good progress was being made on the exit potential of the portfolio and we are pleased to announce this value-enhancing transaction."
